Taking care of your finances is much like diet and exercise.  We know it takes some focus, a good plan, and for time to work its magic, but just like working out, we often give up or are discouraged when we don’t see results right away.  Sure we all have our bad days when we splurge (mMm doOonut), but we know we will feel great once we have reached our goals.

Born out of the Credit Crisis of 07/08, Eqwitty was founded out of a perceived need for financial literacy and a lack of smart financial portals that did not either dumb things down or completely overcomplicate things with jargon.  When it comes down to it, the basics of investing and personal finance are simple and easily understood. I intend to keep it that way.

eqwitty’s mission is to provide investment and personal finance advice in reasonably understandable english.  It was created for smart people, educated yuppies to be exact, who might not necessarily be in the financial industry or have the time to understand every single intricacy of finance, but know it is important and are open to learning a thing or two.  In short, eqwitty is smart finance for smart people.

Upon leaving college, I traded in an engineering degree from one of the top schools in the nation, for a life of number crunching and analysis. Somewhat typical when you decide around your Sophomore year that you just don’t want to be an engineer.

I have worked for a number of very successful registered investment advisories, gaining direct knowledge in portfolio management. The burden of such a career goes beyond the job, as family and friends all want to ask you what you think of the market, or this stock, or if its time to buy gold. This is dedicated to them and to you, “teh internets”. Enjoy.
